Friends, Gratitude, Journey of Life, Prayer Answered, Soul, Spiritual Guide

The hardships and loss we might experience while here on Earth can sometimes be our greatest teaching opportunities. They propel us to seek answers to life’s questions or to draw closer to God for comfort and understanding. This growth in wisdom and love are ours to keep way beyond a single lifetime.

JUNE 8TH ONE DAY RETREAT  “What is Spiritual Success?” DETAILS HERE

Over twenty years ago my “new best friend” Fran stepped up to the plate to be my maid of honor at my upcoming wedding. Fran was the kind of light filled Soul you just were drawn to and wanted to be around. She always had a positive outlook on life and shared everything with you. Her generosity and thoughtfulness of friendship and time was always so evident. She agreed without hesitation to be my maid of honor and said we would have fun together planning my wedding. I was so thrilled to have a friend like Fran; nothing deterred her from her loving task to assist me. About four months before my wedding Fran told me she was a breast cancer survivor and that she was presently in remission. It was no wonder she had such exuberance for life and thanked God all the time for this second chance at living it so fully.

Our plans together took shape over the months as we became close friends. I loved that she shared deep spiritual thoughts with me. We had discussions about her views concerning death. She told me she had taken care of her mother who died of cancer a few years earlier, and then ignored her own medical checkups after finding out she also had cancer.

It was two weeks before my wedding and I noticed Fran didn’t have the liveliness and energy she used to have. Fran confided that her cancer had metastasized. True to form, she swore she would be fine for the wedding and nothing would come between this happy day and her! True to her word, it was amazing to see how well she kept everything organized and on track, helping me with every detail. Fran thrived when she didn’t dwell on the medical concerns ahead of her. She looked absolutely radiant as my maid of honor and was so excited to wear a favorite dress that belonged to her mother.

Fran shared with me her many thoughts about life and what happens after we die. As her radiation and chemotherapy treatments progressed she said no matter what the outcome, she was fine as she had peace in her heart. She shared that her life had been worthwhile. She seemed to have an inner knowing that we are just passing through this life wearing these “earth suits,” and the real world was where ever God is and she was going there. She had a very rare acceptance of death and never expressed any fear. I admired this beautiful quality about her and learned much during our short friendship.

Nine months after the wedding had passed, I went to visit Fran at her father’s home. The treatments had stopped working and she was terminal. It was a beautiful May day and she asked me to take her outside in her wheelchair so she could feel the sun on her face and smell the freshness of spring. She was stunningly lovely and happy in this moment. She shared that she didn’t think the end would come this soon. Eight days later she passed peacefully away at home. That beautiful Soul left her pain filled body to soar home to God.

As her illness progressed, Fran had planned her funeral as a happy remembrance of her time with all of us. She even had the countenance to have a significant song played for all of her friends at her funeral. It was called “Forever Young,” and it carried a message for all of us to remember her by, and take to heart.

Some months had elapsed after Fran’s passing. My route home from work took me past the cemetery where Fran was buried. I thought of her often when I came to this part of my drive. One day I was thinking of her with much love and gratitude for all the many things I had learned from her. Just as I came upon the cemetery the song “Forever Young” came on the radio! I was so overwhelmed with love I had to pull the car over as the tears flowed. The Divine had heard the prayers in my heart as the loving memories flooded so dearly through me. What a precious gift! I know now this was an awake dream, a daytime spiritual experience. I shared my experience with my husband and he exclaimed the same experience had happened to him as he drove by the cemetery! We expressed how grateful we both were at this extraordinary gift!

There are times I’ve asked my inner guide and spiritual teacher Del, a Prophet of God, if I can see Fran in a dream and I’ve had various nighttime dreams with her. We are just hanging out being friends. Fran always appeared much younger, quite lovely, and as vital as ever. In one particular dream she was helping me with a relationship that had ended painfully for me. In the dream I was sitting on a couch with several other people watching a television show. The person who ended the relationship was lying across our laps. He was very heavy and I told Fran how angry I was. She and the other people looked at me questionably. I was struggling to get out from under his weight all the while talking to Fran. During our talk her loving demeanor helped change my attitude from one of hurt and anger to happy, positive, and free from the negative emotions I was holding. I had become free from all those negative emotions. A heavy weight had been lifted from me. I miss Fran dearly to this day but will always be grateful to have shared this lifetime with her.

Seeing God’s Blessings

Often there are things that happen in life we could easily write off as lucky coincidences. Learning to recognize them for what they actually are, Divine guidance and protection from a loving God, will bring more gratitude into your life which changes everything for the better.
I had been having trouble seeing at night. My vision would get blurry and I would see fuzzy halos around lights. I lived on a farm then and in the summer I would let the horses stay out late into the evening so they could enjoy the grass without the flies and the heat of the day, but it was also dark and I was having increasing difficulty finding the horses in the field.
It was when I had gone to a doctor for something else that this just happened to come up in conversation. I remember she paused, then almost like you might recount a dream, said she remembered something from way back in medical school about how seeing halos can be a sign of increasing pressure in the eye, glaucoma. This seemed kind of out there at the time but I went for an eye exam. The test the optometrist did showed my eye pressure as normal, so I thought I was done with that. I wasn’t.
A short time later I noticed something on my eyelid. I thought it was just a stye, but it got bigger, so I went to an eye doctor. He told me it was something called a chalazion, a growth that can be treated with medicine but often comes back, so he sent me to another eye doctor. When the technician came into the exam room she asked if I was to have my pressure checked. I told her I had just had it checked and that I was there for the chalazion thing on my eyelid. For some reason she did the test anyway and left the room. When the Doctor came in he looked pretty serious and he was not focused on my eyelid. He told me the pressure in my eyes was very high, dangerously high, as in I could go blind high. He put drops in my eyes that would temporarily reduce the pressure and said to continue using them exactly as he instructed, and to call right away if there were any changes. He told me I needed surgery as soon as possible.
I had the surgery, my sight was saved. I was protected. Oh, and that chalazion thing just went away as mysteriously as it had appeared and never came back. God speaks to us all, all the time, but we often do not recognize the many ways He communicates to us. This time for me it was in the unusual remembrance of a doctor, the seemly illogical decision of a technician, and a completely unrelated eye problem. Maybe you have sometimes wondered if there was something more going on in a situation, beyond the obvious. Perhaps the Divine is guiding you, as it did for me, to something better. I am grateful to recognize the Hand of God in my life throughout the day. It changes everything for the better.

Love Letter to God

When you have a loving relationship with God’s Prophet anything is possible. This may even include consciously traveling to the Abode of God. Can you imagine the sacred opportunity and blessing of being able to personally express your love, gratitude, and reverence to God Himself?

What if you wrote a love letter to God? What would you say? Would you spend pages and pages thanking Him for the immense gifts in your life? Could you boil it down to a few, short, precious blessings that stand apart from all others? What if you then had the opportunity to hand deliver your letter to God Himself? Anyone could write such a letter. But only one can make it possible to deliver it personally. It takes a God-ordained Prophet to bring one to the Abode of God. I had this very experience in a summer retreat at Guidance for a Better Life in June of 2014.

Along with the other students in the class, I sing HU, a love song to God. I experience such love and reverence for this opportunity, and feel God’s Love and reverence for me as Soul, an eternal spark of the Divine. As we sing, the current Prophet Del brings me and the class spiritually to the highest Heaven – to the Abode of God. This is our true home – our birthplace as Soul. The Light of God here is the purest of any of His Heavens and the Sound is heavenly music. Prophet communicates to the class that we are being given the opportunity to compose a short thank you card, in our hearts, to God.

With the Prophet beside me, we kneel before Our Heavenly Father. Gently and slowly the Hand of the Almighty reaches out and picks me up, bringing me closer. I feel a heavenly breeze and His breath gently caresses me, enveloping me in purity and aliveness that is beyond description. I will forever treasure this moment where I am so close to God I can feel His breath! God then sets me down and I offer my card out to Him. It seems so tiny in His Hand. Yet it is received with such love. The card reads simply: “Dear God, Thank you for my life. Thank you for the Prophet. Thank you for setting me apart. I love you.” The gift for me was giving the card. Yet often what we give comes back to us, though not always so directly. I am then lovingly offered a beautiful golden scroll. As I touch it, I am filled with so much love and instinctively know its contents. It is a love letter to me from God Himself – like a father telling his newborn child all the hopes, aspirations, and love he has for it. It is a most precious gift!

One of the blessings of the Prophet is his ability to help us “go deeper” with our sacred experiences. This helps us see more clearly what the Divine is expressing to us and to more fully accept the blessing offered. Fluent in the “Language of the Divine,” Del saw another meaning that was not evident at first glance. This gift was not random. It was deeply personal and tailor made for me. It spoke to the troubled history I had with my own physical father who I had not seen in many years. As a dad of three young children myself, it was a deep desire in my heart to be a good father to my children and not succumb to my own history and repeat my past with them. This precious gift touched my heart strengthening and fortifying me in my role as a father to my children. It gave me confidence and encouragement that even though a good role model might have been lacking in an area of my life, God supports me. He can fill our shortcomings and inadequacies, blessing a noble intent or a good heart even where we are lacking. It may come through a dream, a nudge, or an experience directly with God Himself!

To be brought before Our Father in the Abode of God is almost incomprehensible. Yet it does happen. God loves us and also wants to bless us in our lives now. There are gifts in Heaven He has for us that can bless us and those around us if we are simply willing to open our hearts to receive them. It is through the loving help and guidance of God’s Prophet that we are able to do so.

My First Time With the Light of God

Gratitude, HU song, Light of God, Love, Nature Awareness School

It is a special moment when Soul first consciously experiences the Light of God. The Light can manifest itself in many different ways but the message contained within is consistent. “God loves you and you are not alone!” As students are blessed to repeatedly experience the Light of God in Its many forms they become more acclimated to being in Its presence. They can now accept even greater amounts of peace, joy, clarity, love, guidance, and truth.

My first experience with seeing the Light of God came during a spiritual retreat at the Nature Awareness School in October 2000. I had been taught the HU the year before. Occasionally during that earlier weekend, Del would invite us to take a blanket and go find a place to sit alone either in the woods or by the pond or on a rock. After settling in to our surroundings, we would close our eyes, focus on the area behind and slightly above eye level, and reverently sing HU, an ancient name for God. He explained that when sung with a grateful heart and as a love song to God, this vibration tunes us in to the realms beyond what our physical senses can detect. It begins to wake up our spiritual senses, and at the same time helps heighten even our physical senses to be able to perceive more of what is around us, a very valuable skill.

This time we stayed in the building and sang HU in a group for a few minutes, then sat quietly afterward with our eyes still closed to watch, listen, and receive. In that relaxed receptive state I saw with my eyes closed, lots of blue dots, then yellow, and streaks of white light. Then I saw waves of blue light fly up and out like doves ascending right through the ceiling. I felt a deep sense of gratitude and love, like I was being invited to “fly” with Spirit. I was shown more yellow, blue, and white lights, and then green light in abstract patterns. I am so grateful for this gift from God, it was like God was saying, “Hello, I love you” and took me for a tour of the Heavenly realms and back! I learned that the colors indicate which state of consciousness one is being lifted up to, for a glimpse of what it would be like to dwell there. I had heard people say many times “God loves you” and “Love lifts you up.” This time I experienced these truths personally!

Since then I have been given many, many inner experiences with the Light and Sound of God, each tailor made for what I needed at that time in my spiritual growth. These experiences have lifted my perspective and given me insights and clarity to make better decisions in life about everything from daily activities to major career changes. I now know the Light and Sound of God dwells within and all around us all the time, whether we are aware of it or not. We are never alone. Thank you God!

God knows the prayers in our heart and can answer them in many ways. Many people miss these profound blessings because they are not tuned in to receive them. If we are conscious daily of God’s Presence anything is possible.

marriage-wallpaper-1152x864

Ever since I was very young girl I dreamed of my wedding day. I dreamed of finding someone to love and share my life with. Someone to enjoy being with each day, in the big and little things of life. I imagined my dad walking me down the aisle and dancing a father and daughter dance. Well I found the man of my dreams and we are getting married in a few days. However it seemed the father and daughter dance could never happen. Two years ago my papilino (what I called my dad) passed away. I have really missed him and am very sad he will miss my wedding. Having my dad at the wedding was a big part of my childhood dreams.

The other day my fiancée and I had a date to go to an art show. The artist is a dear friend of ours. My fiancée came down with a really bad cold and could not attend the event. I decided to stay home with him, but he insisted very much on me going. I am so glad I did go! I had a great time seeing friends and amazing artwork. Little did I know the surprise God had planned for me.

One of my friends got engaged earlier that day and as she was sharing I was given a Divine spiritual travel experience while standing there listening. It was like I had a dream while awake, but it was a real experience. My spiritual teacher, the Prophet, took me spiritually as Soul to the venue where my wedding was to take place. Music was playing and I found myself dancing the father and daughter dance with my spiritual teacher. What an amazing gift! As my heart filled with gratitude, I saw my dad, my dear papilino standing right next to us. He was there to dance with me! We danced! It was a beautiful moment that I’ll cherish forever. He looked wonderful, healthy, happy, and could dance!

God knows me so well! He knew I missed my dad so much and orchestrated this tailor made experience for me. God gave me a gift that keeps on giving. I can sing HU and ask to relive this experience. When I relive it, I am there again, dancing with my father. I have learned to be aware of God’s Presence. While my friend was sharing about her engagement I had been aware of the spiritual presence of the Prophet Del. I believe that awareness tuned me into Divine Spirit so I could receive this gift.

Being aware of God and His Prophet has changed my life drastically for the better. It is like I have a brand new pair of golden glasses on. These golden glasses help me see the Hand of God much more clearly in my life. I am so thankful to God and His Prophet for this gift experience with my dad.

I Saw My Mom When She Was Six Years Old

The author of this story was blessed to travel back in time and experience a part of her mother’s childhood. Wow! Other than the obvious, “that is way cool,” three things really jump out to me. Dreams are real experiences in the greater worlds of God, love transcends time, and God reads the prayers of our heart. It is such a comfort to know this.

Excerpt from “Visit Loved Ones in Heaven”

I was taking a trip to Long Island. It was going to be a quick trip, just up and back within twenty-four hours. My mom passed away sixteen years ago and had grown up on Long Island, New York. I was only going to be there a few hours but it was really important for me to take the time to see some of her childhood. I really wanted to see the house she grew up in and also a bakery that she frequented as a child.

Two nights before I drove to New York I had a very real dream. It was one of those dreams where when you awake, for a moment you are not sure if it was a dream or if you were really there. I was really there. In the dream, I was with my siblings in New York trying to find the house my mom grew up in. As we were walking through the streets of New York, we passed through a wedding. The streets were filled with people in attendance. They were all singing HU, a love song to God, as part of the wedding ceremony. We enjoyed the wedding for a few moments and then continued on to find the bakery. As I walked in, I realized it was no longer there, it had been turned into a Starbucks. My mom came through the front door, she must have been six or seven years old. As she entered the scene slowed and began to transform back to how it would have appeared many years ago.

In this dream/experience, I was allowed to experience this part of her life with her. I was taken back in time and actually lived this moment with her. It was so very real, I could feel the shelves and cabinets, could smell the bakery, and could see and hear her childhood laughter and joy. When I woke up the next morning I was very emotional and still felt as though I was there. I could still feel the emotions that I felt as I lived this moment with her and I could still smell the bakery. It was such a real and wonderful experience.

When I arrived in New York I found the house she grew up in and then went to find the bakery. I was eating lunch in a restaurant on the street where the bakery was located. I asked the waitress where the bakery was so I could see it. She said it was no longer there. As I sat there and began to feel sad that I would not be able to see it, a girl walked in off the street with a Starbucks cup (there was a Starbucks across the street). I immediately was taken back to my experience in the bakery with my mother, right back to how I felt being there with her. What a wonderful gift the Divine had given me, I was allowed to actually live that moment with my mother when she was a young girl rather than just walking through a bakery fifty years later. This experience was such a gift to me and I am so grateful to God for this time with my mother. God knew it was in my heart to see a part of my mother’s childhood. The Divine not only helped me see part of her childhood, it allowed me to experience it with her.

Simple as a Thank You Note

Gratitude, Professor, Spiritual Guide, Thank you note

Gratitude is truly the secret of love. It opens our heart, which makes us receptive to the many blessings of God that surround us daily. Expressing this gratitude in our lives takes it even a step further, and fortunately there is always something to be grateful for.

One of the most profound and enduring blessings from my spiritual teacher Del Hall has been his teaching and example on gratitude. I thought I knew what gratitude was and thought I was a grateful person, but I have learned there is so much more. “Gratitude is the secret of love,” and “Gratitude unexpressed is not gratitude,” are the words I have heard from him, but it has taken years for me to integrate this teaching into my daily life and into my heart.

So with that learning process continuing within me, I picked up the next chart in the clinic where I work and went in to see the patient. She told me she had moved here recently but considered Texas her home. Then we discovered we had attended the same university there, she graduating in 2002 and I in 1973. I asked if she had taken any courses outside her major while there, and she replied that yes, she had taken some world literature classes that she really liked. I told her that while my major was biochemistry, my favorite professor there was in the English department, and I mentioned his name. Her eyes lit up immediately, and she said that he was also her favorite teacher.

“Have you been back for a visit?” she then asked. I replied, “No, I had not.” She said that she went back a couple of years ago and saw the professor walking across campus but was too shy to approach him to say thank you. I told her she had inspired me to finally write a belated thank you from across the miles and decades that have passed since then, and I did just that. I ended my note with that phrase from Del, “Gratitude unexpressed is not gratitude.” I did not expect a response, but when it came my heart was filled with joy:

“Dear James, Your letter was very touching, and I am so happy you wrote it. I am getting close to retirement and sort of gathering my fondest memories. Teaching Ulysses back then is one of them — that first day, walking from my office to class, I kept thinking, if they only knew how much I don’t know. It gives me pause, too, makes me wonder if I thanked the two teachers in graduate school who meant the most to me…  And I never had the chance to thank the guy I had in high school who was the most influential because it took several years to realize the effect he caused.”

So with something as simple as a thank you note, the ripple effects from an expression of gratitude can reach out and touch Souls across boundaries of time and space. I had included a sentence at the end of my thank you note, “Thank you for giving us a lifelong love of literature.”  I know however, my real thank you goes to the Prophet of God for giving me the tools to open my heart to a real and living gratitude for the eternal teachings.

Occasionally we hear in casual conversation the phrase, “I would be eternally grateful if…” By the Grace and Love of God flowing through the Prophet, I am beginning to realize the true nature of eternal gratitude, helping me to live life daily with an attitude of gratitude. Thank you Prophet!

He Hears You – Do You Hear Him?

Have you ever questioned, “Why doesn’t God answer me?” after you have called out to Him in prayer. Just because you did not hear a voice coming from the Heavens does not mean He has not answered you. Most likely the answer has been staring you in the face the whole time. God speaks to us in so many different ways; we just have to know how to listen. In this testimony the author shares three different examples of how God answered his prayers. With a little bit of effort on our part we too can recognize and accept many of the blessings God is offering us.

Excerpt from “Testimonies of God’s Love – Book 5” AVAILABLE HERE

That hot shower first thing in the morning is about as important to me as a cup of coffee is for most people to start the day. One morning as I slowly began to wake up with the shower spraying down on me, I noticed I was standing in a few inches of water. The drain could not keep up with the shower. I did not think it was a big deal because it had all drained out by the time I finished drying off. After a few weeks the water got deeper and my sacred shower had become much less enjoyable. The weekend came around and I picked up a plunger from the hardware store, hoping to quickly resolve my problem. After several hours of plunging mixed with a few minutes of cursing, I called it a day. That night as I showered before bed, it was like taking a bath and a shower at the same time. My shower was mocking me and I knew it.

With the failure of the day still fresh in my mind, I prayed for help regarding the matter and then drifted off to sleep. That night I was given a dream in which my brother-in-law came over to the house with a plunger. In the dream he showed me I needed two plungers to free up the clog in the drain. When I woke up the next morning I knew exactly what I needed to do. It wasn’t five minutes after I got back from the store with an extra plunger that I had recovered a few small, foam letters from the drain that my daughter had played with during her bath. Miraculously enough, the next time I took a shower the drain worked perfectly. Prayer answered. Her foam alphabet collection was back up to twenty-six letters, and my shower was fixed. Dreams are just one of the ways God can communicate with us, but there are so many more if we know where and how to look.

Recently I did a contemplation where I asked what I could do to be a better husband to my wife and father for my children. Essentially, I prayed for help to become better in those areas. There was no booming voice that came down from the Heavens giving me the secret answers. However, after some quiet time following my prayer I had a few specific ideas that came to me. Without getting lost in the details, I had a starting point. Prayer answered. But the Divine was not finished. Later in the afternoon I heard an interview with an author on the radio. The author had written on the very points I was given during my contemplation and had even offered a few more steps beyond what I already had. I took this as acknowledgment I was on the right track. Not only was my prayer continuing to be answered, but there were even more blessings to follow. That night as my wife and I were lying in bed, she shared an article she came across on the Internet. She was not aware of my prayer during contemplation earlier in the day but had managed to find an article on exactly what I was given first thing that morning. God heard my prayer and not only answered it, but helped to keep it alive and fresh throughout the day. In retrospect I cannot help but wonder if I would have missed these gifts from God had I not learned some of the many ways the Divine can communicate with us.

I have been dealing with a personal problem for many years that has affected work, relationships, and probably my personality to some degree or another. A short time back I was literally down on my knees asking God for help. “Help me figure out how to fix this.” I have probably uttered that prayer in some form before, but this time I was not asking God to fix it, I was asking for His help. The answer to that particular prayer came a few days later in the form of a flat tire. I was driving my kids to meet their stepdad so they could go back to his house. The three of us were singing Vanilla Ice’s song “Ice Ice Baby,” a favorite song we sing together. Somewhere between A1A and Beachfront Ave we heard a loud boom. It wasn’t my speakers. It came from the pothole that jumped out and grabbed my rear tire. I knew right away the tire was gone. I was able to pull the car into a church parking lot a few hundred yards up the road. It had been a long time since I had to change a flat, and I was not excited to have to change this one on a cold and windy day. I popped the trunk, grabbing the spare tire and all of the tools I had to change it, but found I was missing the lug nut wrench. Ultimately I had to call for a wrecker to help me change the tire. Obviously the first thought I had was that this is a lesson on being prepared. However, the reason this experience is such a big deal to me is because during the forty minutes or so I waited for the service truck to arrive I was able to see a parallel between the flat tire and the personal problem I have struggled to overcome for so many years, I needed professional help. I pretty much had everything I needed to keep the car on the road; I just needed help from a professional to change the tire.

I think we all have an innate knowing that when we call out to God He actually hears us. I imagine, though, that less of us can confidently say we know He answers our prayers. These are just three examples of the different ways you might be missing your answers. God loves us beyond our comprehension, and when we make Him part of our lives it opens the door to so much love and so many blessings.

A Child of God is Born

Child of God, Childbirth, Gratitude, Soul, Spiritual Light

Sometimes God pulls back a curtain allowing us to experience the spirituality of a situation. The following is a beautiful testimony of witnessing the sacredness of childbirth. It is at this moment that Soul enters the body and a new adventure begins.

Excerpt from “Prophet Shares God’s Light”

How grateful I am for my children, three gifts that God has bestowed upon my wife and I. What were once happy “additions” to the family are now integral parts that I would not want to imagine our lives without. Each of my children’s births was a precious and sacred moment, but it was the birth of my eldest child that gave me a glimpse into the Divinity that was clothed in each little bundle of joy.

The morning my oldest child was born, I stood in the delivery room experiencing all the nervousness and excitement of a first-time dad-to-be. My mind raced forwards and backwards as the moment crawled nearer and nearer.

Because I was at the front of the bed, ready to offer sips of water and cold washcloths to my wife, I could see everyone else in the room. Several people, including the doctor, head nurse, and various other nurses and assistants popped in and out. Time seemed to slow to a freeze and I watched, with this sort of detached viewpoint, a panorama of the other people there.

There was what I can only describe as a reverent anticipation bubbling up in the room. Everyone – it seemed like a lot more than the three or four individuals there – seemed riveted on this sacred moment. There was an overwhelming reverence for Soul permeating the air. A spark of God was about to don another body, take its knocks, learn its lessons, and continue on Its journey home to the Heart of God. I believe each person there, whether conscious of it or not, was recognizing Soul – the Divine spark about to be housed in a tiny little body – but also which lived in each other and in themselves. Each in his or her own way recognized that the source of this spark of life was God.

While my wife, the doctor, and several nurses prepared for the imminent birth, a young nursing assistant stood in the middle of the room unconsciously rocking back and forth, in a slow cadence to some distant rhythm only she could hear. She hugged herself instinctively, as if rocking an invisible baby in her arms. It was hard to say if she was imagining comforting the baby about to be born or herself. Maybe both.

When my son finally arrived, I moved into position to “catch” him. I witnessed a ball of glowing light so intense and brilliant it became hard to see anything else. I immediately recognized this Soul as someone I had loved dearly before. Watching Soul enter the body was breathtaking. The doctor and nurses helped guide his tiny body into my arms. I was holding him when he took his first breath in this body, before surrendering him to my wife’s welcoming embrace. The recognition between mother and son seemed apparent as well.

In my years at the Nature Awareness School, Del has repeatedly led me to experiences that have shown me there is so much more to us than just our bodies – much more than just the parts we can normally see. I believe I witnessed a glimpse of that in my son as he was being born, a glimpse into the Divine essence of our being which is born into this world to learn, to love, and to attempt to pick up the trail back to Its eternal Home.

Confident in My Decision

Our mind and emotions are part of who we are in this world, but they are not the eternal spiritual side of us. Soul is, and it is Soul that has a direct line of communication with the inner Prophet. This relationship brings us the clarity to make decisions we can have peace with instead of decisions solely based on emotions.

Excerpt from “Testimonies of God’s Love – Book 5”

My sister and I live several hundred miles from one another and seldom have the opportunity to spend time together as we once did. As a gift for my forty-ninth birthday she invited me to travel as her guest on a trip out West — a trip that would involve meeting one another at a connecting airport before traveling to our final destination. As much as the thought of having this time together appealed to me, I did not want to jump into it blindly.

An aspect of my spiritual education at the Nature Awareness School has taught me the importance of maintaining balance in all areas of my life, and that doing so goes hand in hand with living an abundant life. Few things threaten our balance more than allowing our emotions to dictate our decisions. And while the mind is a useful tool, Soul, our true Self, resides above the influence of both logic and feelings. From Its higher viewpoint better decisions can be made.

In addition to considering the impact on my home life, work, health, and finances, I looked to the inner Prophet for help in the decision-making process. The help I had asked for came to me in the form of a dream. In it I found myself in a brightly lit airport on one of the inner spiritual Heavens. I had just gotten off a plane when to my surprise, I spotted my sister seated in a waiting area up ahead. I looked forward with joyful anticipation to surprising her as I approached. Her face came alive with a beautiful smile as she stood to greet me. Our meeting was a happy one. The peace and clarity I awoke with left me with a knowingness in my heart it was okay to go. The decision turned out to be a sound one, and the trip full of blessings for each of us.

I have learned the basis for sound decisions ultimately rests on whether we have peace in our heart. A true Prophet of God has the unique ability, through dreams, contemplation, and other forms of inner communication, to show us the truth in our own heart from the viewpoint of Soul.

Hidden Blessings

Often we are not aware the Hand of God has reached into our lives to bless, guide, or protect us. When we do recognize these gifts of love our gratitude and appreciation grows, which opens our heart even further to God’s Love.

I was working on the computer the other week downloading files. As they were rather large files it took some time to download. In between keystrokes I began to contemplate on the miracles of God and God’s blessings. I was sitting there quietly with no agenda, just thinking on the magnificence of God’s Grace. Suddenly I received a tremendous download of love that touched my being in so many ways. A wonderful volume of love poured into me, a gift so precious. Thanking God’s Prophet for this wonderful gift I thought about all the blessings that I receive from God through God’s Prophet. Over the years I have come to discover everything in my life is a gift from God. Sitting there in the office I felt so much love, gratitude, and appreciation. My cup most certainly runneth over.

This started me thinking about the love and gratitude I have for all the gifts I recognize in my life. My family, home, friends, and the gift to see God’s Love manifest in my life in so many ways. My contemplation then shifted as a new thought entered my consciousness. I considered the gifts of love God brings to me that I do not recognize. Then I was reminded of an experience I had several weeks previously. I was working on a job out on the ocean near New England. The ocean weather in the winter can become quite rough and unpredictable. We could only work a few days at a time before a storm would blow through, requiring us to leave our work site and avoid the worst of the weather in a safe harbor. The hundred foot boat we were on was well maintained and the crew very professional. When the weather forecast called a “Small Craft Advisory” we knew to pay attention and run to shelter. This particular time a storm was developing so we moved the vessel to the harbor and set anchor. The wind kept increasing throughout the day and by nightfall we had sustained winds of fifty to sixty miles per hour and gusts over seventy miles per hour. We were still safe. The crew kept a steady watch on our situation and the weather. They had to reset the anchors several times as the wind would push the boat causing the anchors to drag on the bottom.

Going to bed I could feel the wind shifting the boat as it bobbed and rolled against the anchor and chain. Curling up in my sleeping bag I was warm and comfortable, grateful that it was so. I slept well that night. Awakening the next morning I greeted the crew in the galley. They proceeded to tell me that during the night they had recorded a wind speed of over one hundred and four miles per hour. I immediately saw the magnitude of this event, and felt like I had been part of a miracle. My heart turned to God to give thanks for the incredible protection and for keeping us all safe. To put this in perspective a Category One hurricane has sustained winds of at least seventy four miles per hour. Speeds as high as eighty nine miles per hour were recorded when Hurricane Sandy moved through the Garden State. Hurricane Katrina made its second landfall as a Category Three hurricane with sustained winds of one hundred and twenty miles per hour in Louisiana. The winds we experienced were not sustained and would not be considered a hurricane, but the number of things that could have happened to our little vessel boggles the imagination. Yet there we were, sipping coffee in the morning as if nothing happened. We were safe and secure as if we were being held in God’s Hand. The storm had passed and the morning sky was amazing.

Sitting in my office in front of the computer again safe and warm, I wondered about the countless times God protected me, kept me and my loved ones safe from harm, steered me in the right direction at just the right time, and put the right conditions in front of me to answer the prayers of my heart. All those times and I was not aware of any of it. I can, however, try my best to be more aware of and grateful for the blessings I do recognize, to be more aware of God’s Presence throughout the day, and demonstrate gratitude and appreciation for God truly keeping me safe in the palm of His Hand.

What a gift to see a loved one again after they have passed on from the physical. It matters not if human or animal because love is love. Either way it is a joyous reunion and special blessing.

Excerpt from “Testimonies of God’s Love – Book 1.”  Available in print, eBook, and audio format.

For about thirteen years I had a pet black Labrador Retriever named Callie. I adopted her when she was six weeks old, and she was with me until she passed in 1998 of declining health and old age. I have no children, so she really was almost like a daughter to me. I loved her dearly and felt very sad for a long time after she died.

I am blessed to have had several dreams with her. In one of the dreams she was a puppy, and I was taking her for a ride in a basket that was attached to the handlebars of the bicycle I was riding. She was happy and healthy, and we were having so much fun together! In the dream, I could feel the wind blowing on me as I rode the bicycle. I could also feel the love I have for her and the love she has for me. It was a beautiful experience. I had a dream about Callie this year, many long years since she passed. In this dream she was a little older. We were having a happy, playful, loving time together. I was petting her and she was “dancing” around me, wagging her tail in delight.

These dreams, these gifts of love from the Divine, warmed my heart and brought back fond memories of our time together. The dreams are such a blessing to me. I know these dreams are real! Animals are soul too. The dreams about Callie reassured me that she is still alive and happy in the other worlds. The love we have for our loved ones, including our pets, and the love they have for us lives on after they have passed. I am deeply grateful to the Divine for these beautiful personal gifts of love.

Gratitude Transformed My Day

If you feel your heart closing for any reason, making the conscious choice to take a moment, sing HU, and focus on gratitude can help open it back up. This is no small thing. Your day will be fundamentally different if your heart is open versus closed. God speaks to and delivers His blessings to an open heart.

Excerpt from “Testimonies of God’s Love – Book 4.”  AVAILABLE NOW

deer_woods-wallpaper-1280x1024

One recent morning I made a special effort to get out of the house early. I planned to stop at a large home improvement center on the way to work. I love to walk the long aisles of lumber and hardware, happily imagining all the things I could build with them. I see not just stacks of lumber, but future sheds and snug homes for my animals. I also see other projects to enrich the lives of my wife Diane and me. My intention that morning was to check out aluminum fascia and soffit for a project I had in mind. I had about fifteen minutes or so to spend in the store.

I was greeted by a friendly store employee who directed me to the aisle where he thought I would find the aluminum soffit and fascia. There I found the same products in vinyl but not aluminum. I spent about ten minutes fruitlessly searching for either the aluminum or someone else to help me. I was aware time was running out and felt some irritation creep in, it was about time to go on to work. On the way out I encountered the same helpful man who had originally sent me to the wrong location. He still wanted to help. Although skeptical, I decided to give it one more try. I followed him to another location where he thought we might find the aluminum. It was not there either, but we did encounter another employee who informed us the aluminum I sought was only available by special order. I thanked the first man who had twice tried to help me, wished him a good day, and left for work. I knew it would be tight, time-wise.

As I drove to work I was aware that I was a little irritated over the lost time. I did not want to arrive at the school where I work under the influence of irritation. I chose to sing HU, a love song to God, to improve my mood and perspective. I also played a CD of a large group of students singing HU at the Nature Awareness School. At the beginning of the CD Del Hall, God’s Prophet, suggests we think of something for which we are grateful. This would open our hearts to better express our love for God when singing HU. He reminds us “Gratitude is the secret of love.” Del has taught me to sing HU and practice gratitude. He has shown me to see and appreciate how these and other spiritual teachings transform lives. My life is richer and happier for it.

Hearing the physical voice of Prophet, God’s distributor of blessings and grace, triggered a wave of gratitude for the countless blessings in my life. Hearing HU opened my heart more and more as the song continued. Each remembered blessing was connected to still more blessings. I thought of my growing love and appreciation for Prophet. I savored the love of my family, friends, and pets. I was on my way to my new job. The job is literally an answer to a prayer to work in just that school. I gratefully considered the attitude of gratitude that sweetens my life. Gratitude transforms day, upon day, upon day; a result and gift from Del’s teachings. So Del’s seemingly simple, yet very profound, suggestion to think of something I was grateful for released a cascade of remembered blessings. My earlier irritation was gone. I felt a sense of joy and gratitude for the day I was about to experience. I could not wait to get to school and see the kids and teachers.

Blessings were everywhere I looked. As I drove I saw more clearly the beauty of nearby farms and distant mountains. I took notice of the horses and cows in the pastures and the mist on the hazy mountains. I actually arrived at school a few minutes early since I sailed through several intersections on green lights, something else to be grateful for. I gave further thanks for my relocation to Virginia. I arrived at work with a lighter step and a smile on my face. Gratitude made a profound difference in my interactions with others that day. Through the attitude of gratitude I experienced each moment as a gift to be savored. I saw each person I encountered as a fellow Soul on their own life adventure. A few moments of gratitude transformed my whole day. This ongoing gift of living with a sense of gratitude is changing my entire life. Gratitude allows me to see God’s blessings more clearly and for what they are, gifts from our loving Heavenly Father. I know I am blessed with a life of lasting abundance.

When we are overly attached to the decisions our loved ones make it becomes harder to love them purely. They are a child of God first and as such they will never be on their own. Learning to love them in a relaxed peaceful way will help you savor the love connection.

newborn_baby_sailor-wallpaper-1920x1080

It came as an unexpected surprise when my adult daughter decided to attend a HU Sing during her impromptu visit with us one weekend. Two weeks prior, before any of us were aware she’d be visiting, the Prophet — my spiritual teacher and inner guide — appeared to me in what I can now say was a prophetic dream. In this dream, he explained that my daughter had contacted him about an upcoming class, indicating in some way that she wanted to surprise me. It wasn’t long before she did! Two weeks later we were seated at a HU Sing together.

I feel fortunate to have been among those in attendance that day. Sharing the experience with my daughter made it that much more special. The moment I closed my eyes and began singing HU, I saw her as a baby securely cradled in the arms of the Divine. I recognized her as Soul—a beautiful, glowing bundle of Light and Sound. My heart overflowed with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Different moments from her life began to play out after that, allowing me to experience each one from the perspective of knowing that the Presence of God has always been with her and always will be. A higher truth was evident: Although she is my daughter in this lifetime, she belongs to God and has always been in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. The peace and trust I felt in this moment can hardly be put into words. Being totally in the moment, aware of the Presence of God, I experienced detachment from worldly concerns of every kind. Divine love filled my heart and I felt free; free to simply love.

Prophet took me on a personal journey into the higher worlds and it changed me. The experience was tailor made to bring me peace, trust, and a greater understanding of love, as it is in Heaven. Through this experience I was able to recognize my two grown children as adults, which has positively affected how I interact with them. I am less emotionally attached to their decisions and free of the expectations I once carried of being invited to weigh in on their decisions. I now have room to enjoy their presence and relate to them as treasured friends; precious Souls I am blessed to share this life with as we each make our way home to God.

It is a profound gift to savor the experiences of life together, unfettered by the emotional entanglements I once mistook for love. I am grateful to the Prophet for showing me a higher, purer way to love. One that allows me to care in a relaxed and peaceful way.

God’s Love is All Around Us

We are here on Earth to learn more about giving and receiving love. Of the two, more tend to struggle with receiving love rather than giving love. Fortunately, the Divine presents us with countless opportunities to practice, for if one desires to truly give love they must first be able to receive it. We cannot pass on what we do not have.

flowers_soustons_france-wallpaper-1920x1080

I attended a wonderful reunion recently. There I was blessed to experience God’s Love in a circumstance that was different than I would have imagined. Every moment can be an opportunity to give or receive love, no matter where we are – at church or at home, at work or at the store. Or in this example – cutting cheesecake.

It was a perfect mid-summer evening. I was standing around the table with my family and friends, enjoying the sweet laughter and familiar sounds of those I love while I was slicing the cheesecake for dessert. Suddenly, I began to feel weak and fainted. Two men stood at the table beside me and caught me as I began to fall. My husband watched me begin to faint and raced around the table to catch me before I hit the ground.

For those of you whom have fainted before, you can probably relate to the anxiety with which you come back into your body, unaware as to why people are looking down at you with such concern. Slowly I realized what had happened. With my husband at my side like a rock of solid love, I received a chair in which to rest until I gained back my strength. A friend who is a physician’s assistant began to ask me questions to decipher what had happened, but there seemed to be no logical explanation for it. It was an unexpected and random event which contained a hidden blessing.

As I was recovering in the chair, I became aware that God was opening a window for me. Through it, He was revealing a greater portion of His Love for me through my friends and family. I knew at that moment that He has that same love for each and every one of us, including you. More love than we could possibly imagine is all around us – all the time.

For the next ten minutes as I regained stability, I could feel God’s Love pouring into me. I could now see what had always been there. Gratitude streamed out of my heart. I am so blessed to love and be loved by my husband. His strength and devotion became even more apparent to me that night, shining forth through a turbulent moment. How sweet that was and still is!

Around the room stood other people in my life whom I love and who love me. Disguised as human love, I received a portion of God’s Love in each thought or prayer of well wishes and each compassionate look in their eyes. As a friend gave me a glass of water, it was God’s Love that was passed into my hand and heart. Each touch on the shoulder, each cold rag on my forehead did the same. They were all gifts of love from God, just in a different form – given from Soul to Soul. It was a very precious moment. To be loved is no little thing, but a huge gift from God that I cherish.

I also felt so protected. I had been in precarious places to faint earlier that day – at the edge of a creek, on a large rock in the woods, and alone in the bathroom. Yet I fainted at the precise moment in time where I could receive the most care. I could see the concern in my husband’s and friends’ eyes, understandably, but I knew that somehow this was part of God’s plan for me. Throughout the whole experience, I was blessed to be keenly aware of the Prophet of God’s presence with me. His presence gives me a comfort and security that transcends any physical experience. With him I was aware of a  sphere of soft golden and white light surrounding me and the entire room. Inwardly, the Prophet gave me reassurance that everything was fine, which helped me to relax and be present in the moment.

On this wonderful summer evening, I was given the opportunity to see and accept more of God’s Love. For years Del Hall has taught me and others to recognize God’s Hand, and His Love, in all areas of our lives. And in this moment of physical vulnerability, God’s message got through to me. I saw His Love in everything and everyone around me. Throughout my life I, like many others, have found it easier to give love than to receive it. This night was an opportunity to just accept it. Thank you Prophet for helping me to see and accept more of what has always been around me – God’s Love.

Grateful for the Time I Had

This story is about more than the loss of a beloved pet. It is about having the wisdom, trust, and strength to focus on the positive in a time of genuine sadness. Those who have this attitude of gratitude will be able to travel through the rough patches in life with less wear and tear.

adam

I am eleven years old and I had an amazing, amiable boy cat named Adam. His personality was adorable and I loved him dearly. He knew how to give and receive love. On March 11, 2015 my family and I had to take him to the veterinarian and put him down. He had a urinary tract infection which had damaged his kidneys. He was only three years old and I was extremely sad! I trusted God and knew in my heart this happened for a reason, but it still hurt. Even so, I decided it would be better to be grateful for the time I had with him instead of being sad about the time I didn’t.

I know you can visit loved ones in dreams so I asked Prophet several times over the next few nights for a dream with Adam. I did not receive one right away but kept asking and never gave up. One night I had a wonderful dream with him, it was so clear. In the dream I was climbing the stairs to my room to go to sleep. When I opened the door Adam was sitting right there on the floor next to my bed. Once Adam saw me he quickly scrambled under the bed like some cats do. Sadly I got in bed, wishing he had not scurried away. He then peaked his head out with a look on his face that said, “Oh… you want to pet me.” He then snuggled up close to me purring loudly. I could feel his warmth as I scratched his furry little head. It felt so real! I cried both joyful and sad tears. I am very grateful that God and Prophet knew I missed him. It helped me a lot seeing him again.

After a few months I started wondering about getting another kitten as a gift for my upcoming birthday. I then received a magazine I subscribe to and it had a kitten on the cover, which it never does. The month of the issue was my birthday month. I was then reading a book and the girl who had always wished for a kitten received one for her birthday. I took these signs as confirmation of what was in my heart: I was ready for and desired another cat.

I will always have a strong love for Adam as well as for my new kitten, Milo. I’ll always remember Adam and the amazing gift that God gave me.

The days seemingly turn into weeks, months, and years faster with the passing of every season. Through this passage of time the loss of our loved ones is one of the experiences that hurts the most. Even if we have a strong faith in the afterlife it is still sad to no longer be in the presence of our loved ones physically. Fortunately, we can reconnect in dreams and once again share moments of love.

rainforest_waterfall-wallpaper-1920x1080

Missing your parents after they have passed on can make your heart heavy sometimes, but when you are blessed with a dream with both of them it can lighten your heart, lift your spirits, and make you grateful for the opportunity to see them again. My parents passed away a couple of years ago and sometimes I go through moments when I really miss them. Sometimes I think about them and the love they shared with each other and to our family and others and it opens my heart. One night I went to bed and said a prayer. I asked Prophet and God, if it was their will could I be blessed with a dream. I did not think of anything in particular to have a dream about, but left it open for Prophet to choose.

That night I had a dream with my mother and father. We were at our house where I grew up and we were standing in the backyard. When I was growing up we had talked about putting a swimming pool in the backyard; at least I did. We had the space for it and I thought how great it would be to be able to swim and float in it when ever we wanted. In the dream as we stood in the yard I decided to wander over to a place where my mother had grown grapes. The vines grew on a fence that my father built especially for her so she could grow grapes. She loved her grape vines and as a kid I remember picking grapes so my mother could make grape jelly and grape juice. As I walked behind the fence where the vines hung, there appeared a pool, a natural spring pool or pond. It was in a circular shape with smooth large stones that lined the bottom and lined the edge of the water. The water was crystal clear and it was very inviting. When my mother saw the pool she immediately wanted to go in. My mother in her later years struggled with walking and always needed assistance in the form of a cane or walker. In the dream I helped her to the edge of the pool and then I helped her in. I got in with her, the water was cool and refreshing, it also was soothing and healing. I helped my mother float around and she gently kicked her legs. She was so happy.

Growing up my mother did not learn how to swim, she would sometimes comment that she wished that she had learned how to swim because she would have enjoyed going in the water much more and not be afraid. In the dream she was totally at peace floating in the water. While we floated my father came to the edge of the pool and I asked him if he wanted to get in, he said yes and decided to sit down and put his feet in. He gently moved his feet back in forth experiencing the refreshing water on his feet and legs. Both of them had big smiles on their faces. Seeing their smiles opened my heart. I was so happy to see them again and to see them do something that brought them joy. I gently floated my mother over to my father and they looked at each other with such love in their eyes and hearts, I could feel it. They turned and looked at me and then I woke up. As I awoke I began to cry, I was crying because I was so grateful for that experience with my parents in the dream. As I lay there I thanked Prophet and God for the dream and for answering my prayer.

After reflecting on the dream I knew that the dream was a true blessing! In my heart I specifically asked the Prophet for a dream, and I received one. I felt that God and His Prophet gave me this dream because they love me and wanted me to know that my parents loved me too. It was also a chance to see my parents again and to know that they are fine, plus swim in the pool that I always wanted. This dream was comforting, uplifting, and healing, and just when I needed it! Thank you Prophet for allowing this to dream to happen, I am very grateful!

Every Day is a Gift From God

God's Love, Gratitude, Remember Your Blessings, Seize the day

An attitude of gratitude makes all the difference in life, and fortunately there is always something to be grateful about. Perhaps the greatest gift, which can sometimes be overlooked, is the gift of life itself. The small things that sometimes get us down melt away when we remember the blessing of being alive to live another day in God’s Love.

a_dog_and_a_butterfly-wallpaper-1920x1080

Have you ever considered that God gives us the exact experiences we need in life to help us to know that His Divine hand is in everything? I have been blessed by a true spiritual teacher, Prophet Del Hall III, who has helped me to recognize that no experience in life is simply random or coincidental. It is all a part of God’s plan to help us to grow closer to Him and to recognize that His Love is all around. I was blessed years ago when Prophet helped me to recognize the Divine gift of working with a man who showed up at my job one day. His name was Juan, and he had recently arrived in Virginia from Honduras. He was an air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic by trade, but due to economic problems in his home country he was now working on a landscaping crew with me and trying to save as much money as he could to send home to his family. My supervisor assigned him to work with me most days because I was the only one on the crew who could explain the details of the job to Juan in Spanish. As we worked together for long hours in the hot summer sun I began to see  he had something precious, as precious as any American dollars, he had a grateful heart.

One hot humid afternoon as we pruned bushes next to a busy street, we began to talk about the spiritual side of life. Juan was a devout Christian who spoke about the Bible and God in a reverential tone. He at one point paused and said emphatically, “Every day is a gift from God.” His words went right into my heart. In that moment there was nothing to stress over. The hours of working in the summer heat, the traffic noise, feelings of loneliness since a relationship had recently come to an end, nothing that had been bothering me in days past, mattered at this point. It was a gift to simply to be alive for another day with God. While I felt Juan speaking from his heart in that moment, I know that it was also the spiritual presence of Prophet, the Voice of God, who was speaking words of Divine wisdom through him.

That conversation with my friend from Honduras helped me to look at life with a more grateful attitude. I went on to enjoy many more conversations with Juan as we became good friends. Many years have passed since I last saw Juan, but his words stay alive in my memory. Prophet, through his inner presence, has often taken me back to that moment when Juan expressed his gratitude for God and reminded me of what a precious gift of Divine love each day, and each moment, truly is.

Prophet Del Hall has also shown me that not only is each moment a precious gift from God, but that many of the people that we cross paths with in life may also be the carriers of profound gifts of love. One day when I was talking with Del about how I felt blessed to be able work with immigrants like Juan and to help them to feel more at ease in the United States, he raised the possibility that maybe Juan was a spiritual teacher who God had sent to me, because I was the one who needed some help. He certainly did teach me about gratitude and how to keep a positive attitude at a job that was not always pleasant or easy. He did this not just by things that he would say, but mostly through the example he set of often having a smile on his face and a sense of humor while he worked with enthusiasm, regardless of the weather or the task that we were assigned.

I have grown to appreciate that the Voice of God, the Holy Spirit, is always communicating to us. Sometimes the communication comes to us through the friends, co-workers, and seemingly random strangers, as well as from within ourselves. What a privilege it is to know that there is a Prophet of God upon this Earth who can help us to hear the Divine voice and to be alert to its presence in all areas of our lives.

There is a very big difference between having a relationship with God based on love versus one based on fear. While there is a call for reverence, to live with a constant fear or worry of damnation closes our heart and is counterproductive. God desires to bless and guide us through His Prophet but these gifts cannot be delivered to a heart closed by fear. If you wish to nurture a more loving relationship with Our Father, the HU Love Song is one of the best ways to do so.

When I was growing up I lived in a rural town and I went to small church with my family. I was told that God loves us and that Jesus loves us also. I knew this in my heart but always knew there was more. Around twenty years ago, when I went to the Nature Awareness School, I learned a love song to God. Before that I only knew how to respect God or to fear Him as the Bible says. At the school I learned a beautiful song called HU. I was told by Del, my teacher at the school, that it is a love song to God and when you sing it you are focusing on sending love to God with all of your heart. Learning this changed my life. I have experienced, when singing HU, that my heart opens and I am filled with gratitude.

One weekend at the school I had an experience while singing HU. Del was leading the class and we began singing HU. As I started to sing my heart really opened to know that I was singing a love song to God, I could feel the love that I had for God, and it felt strong. By having this experience, I realized that it was a gift. I realized to give love back to God and tell Him that I love Him is one of the most loving things that I could do. I felt that my heart naturally wanted to do this. At that moment I was so grateful to be able to sing HU! While singing HU I experienced in some way that God was blessing others.

When singing I could feel and hear the sound of HU go up to God. This experience was a knowing, not something that I could mentally wrap my head around, but a feeling that was true in my heart. Spiritually I could see a golden ring go around the world and shower it with love, God’s Love. God’s Love went out to people going about their everyday life just touching them with a gift of light. As I saw that, it made me want to give more. The sound of HU surrounded me, also hearing the sound of everyone else in the class singing HU and knowing that they had the same intention, filled me with peace and love. That peace was palatable. I was so grateful for this experience and grateful to Del, a Prophet of God, for teaching me this love song.

This experience was a blessing, and as I reflect back in time, it reminds me that we are loved, God really loves us, and He hears us! God gave us a song to sing. By singing it everyday it opens my heart, it opens my heart to the love that I have for God, and the love that He has for us. It also reminds me that I have love to give to others. Thank you Del for teaching me the greatest song of all, HU.
