One of the most precious gifts you can give yourself (and others in your life) is learning to confidently trust and follow guidance from Spirit. This guidance is a gift of love and is available for anyone who is receptive to it. God won’t make us follow the guidance, but life is certainly blessed when we do.
I enjoy attending estate sales. When my schedule allows, Saturday mornings I am out at estate sales. Several nights before, I go online and find the sales and plan the best route according to their locations. One Saturday morning I got up and ready to go, but something told me to wait. Okay – so I did a few things around the house. Time was ticking and I was anxious to get going. Wait. I sang HU for a bit then got the feeling it is time to go. Alright! I left and went to the first sale on my list. As I was walking out of the sale, my phone rang.
It was a dear friend of mine and she was at the hospital. Her husband just had his second major surgery in six months. I could barely understand what she was saying. I asked where she was? “I’m at the coffee shop in the hospital.” she said. I replied, “Hold on, I’ll be there in three minutes.” “Yes, only three minutes away.” The first estate sale was a block from the hospital.
Had I not followed the inner nudges from Prophet to wait, I would have been on the other side of town, miles away from my friend. Because I “listened” I was able to sit there with her, listen to her, and support my friend in need. Sometimes all a person needs is for someone to listen to them and just be there for them. I was so grateful to be close by and available when I received her call.
Over the years of attending classes at the Nature Awareness School, Del has taught his students how to recognize, listen to, trust, and follow Divine guidance. In this example the guidance came as an inner nudge or feeling to delay my morning trip to estate sales. I know the nudge was guidance from the Holy Spirit, the inner part of God’s Prophet. I know listening to this inner guidance is always in my best interest. It will never misguide me.
I was grateful to have been there for my friend as she has been there for me over the years. Thank you for that gift of love Prophet.
